SQL Server has designated China as one of its 3 strategic R&D sites world-wide. With offices in both Beijing and Shanghai, the SQL Server China R&D Center is chartered to work on a variety of established core product components as well as driving innovation in new technology areas.

The SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) China team is looking for an experienced Group Manager to build and lead a new cross-functional development team that will develop new functionality for SSIS. The SSIS product is already making great headway in the ETL market, and we have plans to expand it beyond the traditional ETL definition by leveraging “better together” with our partners and the rest of the Microsoft platform.

As the Group Manager, you will be responsible for building an excellent development and QA team that is integrated into the overall software development practice of SQL Server. Working with program management, you will own feature areas of the product and be responsible for all new development on those features. To be successful in this position, you must have excellent management and cross-cultural collaboration skills, good knowledge of software development practices at large software product companies, and great technical judgment for enterprise software products requiring reliability, performance and great usability design. Knowledge of ETL or data warehousing is a plus, but not a requirement for the candidate who can learn quickly.

Requirements:
6 year+ professional development experience for a commercial enterprise product (database, operating system, email server, etc.), including at least one full ship cycle.
3 year+ software development management experience.
A BS degree or better in Computer Science; Masters degree preferred.
Fluent in English; Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) preferred.
