SQL Server has designated China as one of its 3 strategic R&D sites world-wide. With offices in both Beijing and Shanghai, the SQL Server China R&D Center is chartered to work on a variety of established core product components as well as driving innovation in new technology areas.

This position will work on Microsoft’s next generation Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) storage technology. This project brings fault tolerant, highly scalable and highly available structured data store into the limelight. In this position, you will have full ownership in your area for the projects and vendor management. You will be responsible for hiring/setup and managing vendor team, and you will also lead vendor team to be fully responsible for testing projects, including but not limited to test case execution and verification, implementing product tests, design and build test automation and analysis infrastructure, work with testers, developers and PM in Redmond to define the right level of testing, signoff, test code reviews, analyzing existing tools and procedures to improve efficiency, anticipate and identify problem areas, and contributing to the test strategies in leveraging vendor model. This position will work closely with partners in the SQL Server teams in Redmond; have a big impact on SQL Server, WLC Overall business.

The key responsibilities include:

Communicate with MS HQ teams for testing project outsource planning and collaboration.
Help on refining and optimizing the testing and project management process to improve efficiency.
Lead team both FTEs and vendors to manage and execute project to accomplish product testing tasks on time with high quality
Be technical expert to the products and projects, and need to resolve the technical problems escalated by your vendors
Candidates should have at least 2 years experience as a Project Lead or Manager and at least 6 years experience in software development. Strong C# or C++ skills are required, as well as leadership ability and project management skills. Ability to ramp up quickly on a new technology and to work independently is a must. Strong design problem solving skills, debugging skills, a passion for quality engineering, and a flair for bringing out the best in teams are required. Experience with SQL Server, web services and XML technologies are ideal. With knowledge and experiences for test automation techniques and technologies essential are big plus. A BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related discipline is required.
