The Server and Tools Business (STB) China organization is looking for an experienced Lab Engineer to drive lab excellence. If you are excited by the prospect of working in one of the largest R&D lab in Microsoft China this opportunity may be for you. You will work closely with STB China developers and testers to design and implement the excellent lab solutions and provide best practices and services. You will contribute to the STB China Engineering Excellence efforts and will have prominent exposure to the STB China R&D Leadership Team.
Core Responsibilities:
· Design, implement and maintain the servers, systems, network infrastructure and facilities necessary to develop and test Server and Tools products.
· Understand complex dev and test problems and requirements, and then work closely with developers and testers to design, communicate, deliver and maintain the lab solutions.
· Administrate servers, systems, and infrastructure in areas such as automatic OS setup, data backup, system health monitoring, and scheduled maintenance.
· Be part of R&D Engineering Excellence team to improve the lab usage efficiency by facilitating R&D efforts from lab aspect.
· Optimize and document the lab processes and design and deliver lab user education.
· Provide analytical lab reports, strategic suggestions and evaluative solution information for leadership team to make business decisions.
· Participate in the new R&D lab design and build in Shanghai and ensure the smooth migration.
· Interact with the third-party product and service providers to ensure their service level.

look, mum's on the field

Last night, don't remember when, I snap the scrore of soccer match: 2:0, China VS Italia.
My first thought was, what, they didn't send their core players?
Then after 2 minutes I just realized that: this is women soccer.

We played just like "wow", even on the fair charge, we are stronger.

One more thing, there's a mother on the field playing as 36 year's old with 3 children.

This honor only belongs to the women, China men's soccer, they never play soccer.

Save your power

I got a laptop, I bring it to office & back everyday, same as most guys do.

The difference is, I don't bring the charger, I do that purposely.

Everybody needs to unplug, save your power & walk further, so, now, unfornate 10 minutes remaining.

Gotta go, see you..

The good thing with MS is, nobody's watching ur back, just do yourself, up to you to work with t-shirt or come in late.
Let me count, at this moment, only one guy still hanging on "office communicator" , he's going to come in late , tomorrow, oh, no, today.

Trust your fingers or use a chalk?

在公司打IP电话,你也许会说不出来自己的授权密码是什么,但是你一定会说: My finger knows,只要在
电话机面前,你的手指会拨出那个号来.
如果把这个经历放在面试当中,面对一块白板,"而不是你熟悉的键盘", 你的coding会受到影响吗?
在面试的时候有碰到候选人说:面对白板,他找不到感觉,没有办法正常地发挥.
在那个时候深吸一口气,calm down,不如在来之前做做功课.

几点小建议供你参考:
在微软面试做开发(SDE)或者做测试(SDET),一定会当场考你的Coding,所面对的就是一块白板和一支白板笔.
字写得不好看没有关系,只要能辨认 :)
白板与电脑的另一个重要区别是,你不能做debug,所以, 在上面coding的时候,建议把行间距拉得宽一些,便于修改. 通常来说, 不会让你做很长的coding,当然如果你只能想到通过很长的coding来解决问题的除外 :P
放松你自己,找一找当老师的感觉吧 :D

糟糕的地铁UI,第一天上班搭错车的经历

第一天上班,搭错了车,而且一路错到了底
首先是本来上楼乘轻轨,结果下了楼走向了地铁方向
返回来之后,乘坐四号线,应该在上海体育馆下车换一号线,结果做过一了站,到了上海体育场
转到一号线之后,本来应该坐向上海火车站方向,结果坐向了辛庄方向

从头错到了尾,为什么这一切会发生呢,从地铁的指示来说:

1.上楼轻轨,下楼地铁,标志悬在头顶.
最醒目的方法是立一块牌子,标明上下的方向.
考虑到立牌子所占的空间,最简单的方法是把标志明显地标在脚下及台阶上
2.错过了换乘站
如果在地铁里留心的话,当到达延安西路站时,会报站:换乘轨道交通三号线,请在此下车
依此判断,我想到达体育馆的时候,应该也会有报站:换乘轨道交通一号线,请在此下车,但是没有
而且对于初次乘坐的人,体育馆站和体育场站有什么分别?
3.一号线乘错了方向
在指示牌上,我想我会用不同的色系来标明上海火车站和人民广场站方向
错就是完全错了这么一次,第二天以后就习惯了方向.
人是习惯动物,找习惯的方向,做习惯的事情.也许这是一直都没有改进的原因.

但是换个角度说,
就象个人的职业生涯,或许有标记,或许没有,或许标记对,或许标记错,不停地试错,才找到正确方向
